EGYPTAIR Express launches first flight to Al Arish


In line with the policy of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, headed by Air Marshall Ahmed Shafiq, to develop the Sinai Peninsula community and encourage more tourism in the area, the first flight of EGYPTAIR Express plane has arrived to the area of Al Arish arriving from Cairo.
The domestic route operates through a financing partnership between the North of Sinai governorate and Sama Al Arish Group of Companies. These efforts are also supported by EGYPTAIR Holding Company’s strategic plans in cooperation with the private sector and the investors to develop this sector.
The direct flight (scheduled once a week at the moment) between Cairo and Al Arish, will boost flights to North Sinai which is considered to be one of the country’s most attractive touristic areas.
Engineer Hussein Massoud, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding Company said that EGYPTAIR endeavors to cooperate with the private sectors in promoting domestic travel and link the internal flights to the international network and Star Alliance program.
Part of the land next to the airport, will be allocated to establish new premises for the Academy, for Aviation studies in Al Arish.

The Palace of Amir Bashtak was built by Amir Bashtak al-Nasiri, has unusual windows screened with mashrabiya. But the second floor chamber, with its pointed arches, stained-glass windows and gilt and painted wood paneling distinguish it as one of the most beautiful private chambers of the period.





It is notable because of its museum which documents the history of the city of Cairo, and its beautiful Qaa (chamber). On the outside, this palace built by Emir Beshtak in 1334 AD, has unusual windows screened with mashrabiya. one of al-Nasir Muhammad's close khassakiya amirs and his son-in-law, in 1334-39 on the site of the Fatimid Eastern Palace (al-Qasr al-Sharqi). But the second floor chamber, with its pointed arches, stained-glass windows and gilt and painted wood paneling distinguish it as one of the most beautiful private chambers of the period.It remains nearly complete in its original form, with two stories, qa'a, a small courtyard, and integrated stables which have a special gate opening onto a side street. The long facade was endowed with many windows opening onto the busiest street in medieval Cairo.

A new Development Project of the Egyptian Museum.
The project’s aim is to provide more services and facilities to the museum’s patrons, which will include adding a new visitor’s route and extending the hours of operation until 10:00 pm.
The museum is now equipped with a brand new visitor’s center that includes a beautiful bookstore, cafeteria, restaurant and a children’s museum. This center is located on the western side of the Egyptian Museum and will be accessible through the museum’s new tour route.
The opening of an open-air permanent exhibition on the eastern side of the museum will be also announced . The collection includes a number of sarcophagi, statuary and architectural elements from ancient Egyptian tombs and temples.




At the completion of this Development Project, visitors will enter the museum from the main entrance gate located at Tahrir Square and exit from the side gate next to Mariette’s mausoleum. This phase of the Egyptian Museum Development Project is one part of a multi-phase plan to transform the museum into a beautiful space for the display of ancient Egyptian art.
The project will be complete after transferring some of the existing Egyptian Museum collection to the planned Grand Egyptian Museum overlooking Giza plateau.
The basement of the museum has also gotten a face-lift as part of the project , it has been transformed into a research center for scientific testing, equipped with a DNA lab, documentation center and administrative sector.
